Alison Wells - Senior Social Worker.
I am a mum to three children and a nanan to Millie and Ember Rose, I love spending quality time with my family and friends.
I am highly committed to supporting the foster carers I work with in order for them to provide high quality foster placements to the children in their care.
Safe Base Fostering has turned from a vision into reality, I am very excited to work with the team In order to develop the agency to its full potential. The goal is to build up a strong reputation and for Safe Base Fostering to be well known in south Yorkshire.
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours and I have worked with vulnerable children & adults in a social care environment for over 20 years.
My roles have varied from working in a hospital, on a children's ward, working within the Mental Health sector and my most challenging role of working with women and children who have suffered/witnessed domestic violence.
I started working as as a Supervising Social Worker at a large national independent Fostering Agency in 2013 after qualifying as a Social Worker. In my role of Supervising Social Worker I have recruited, assessed, supported and monitored the suitability of foster carers, ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children/young people in accordance with the agency policies and procedures. I have undertaken extensive professional training to keep up to date with all relevant child care legislation and fostering regulations. I have worked closely and maintained excellent working relationships with a wide range of professionals including local authority social workers, CAMHS workers, teaching staff & safeguarding agencies.
